YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced production, sales and export figures for January 2021.

1. Production

Nissan’s global production in January increased 2.4% from a year earlier.

  • Production in Japan declined 14.7%.
  • Production outside Japan increased 6.2%.
  • Production in Mexico surpassed year-earlier results by 0.3%.
  • Production in China surpassed year-earlier results by 31.0%.

 

2. Sales

Global sales in January declined 1.9% from a year earlier.

  • Sales including minivehicles in Japan surpassed year-earlier results by 2.3%, the fourth consecutive monthly increase.
    • Sales of registered vehicles in Japan surpassed year-earlier results by 3.9%.
    • Minivehicle sales in Japan surpassed year-earlier results by 0.2%.
  • Sales outside Japan declined 2.5% from a year earlier.
  • Sales in China surpassed year-earlier results by 23.8%

 

3. Exports from Japan

Exports from Japan in January declined 10.8% from a year earlier.
