Nissan Canada Inc. today announced the NISSAN GT‑R supercar has won the Most Advanced Technology Award, one of the highly coveted awards of Car of the Year Japan 2008-2009.;

The final selection, conducted by the Car of the Year Japan Executive Committee, took place from November 10 to November 11 at Oiso, Kanagawa prefecture. In awarding the winner, the jury cited the NISSAN GT‑R “as a supercar that delivers powerful performance and clean emission, featuring an advanced new body structure combining carbon, aluminum and steel, in addition to its impressive dual-clutch transmission and the world’s first independent transaxle 4WD.”

NISSAN GT‑R has been a global success since its launch on December 6, 2007 in Japan and July 7, 2008 in North America. The vehicle is available now at 22 Nissan dealers across Canada and has an MSRP of $89,900. Customer deliveries for the GT‑R began in August 2008. Each dealership offering the GT‑R has been specially trained and received a facility upgrade.
