After a successful team debut last season, Nissan e.dams is entering season six of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship to continue demonstrating the power and performance of its EV technology and communicate its Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision.

Below are notes from testing:

Valencia, Spain – Day 1

Session 1:
Oliver Rowland - P4 - 1:16.246
Sebastien Buemi - P5 - 1:16.297

Session 2:
Sebastien Buemi - P6 - 1:15.882
Oliver Rowland - P7 - 1.15.942

Mike Carcamo - Nissan global motorsports director

"Season six, first day of testing in Valencia has been a very positive day for us. I can remember a year ago having a lot of nerves and anxiety about our first runs, but having a full year under our belt, the team has a lot more confidence.

"That confidence translated into strong running from 9:00 am this morning, right up until 5:00 pm. We were able to get a lot of work done and really focus on the car development.

"I think both drivers came back with really positive feedback on the powertrain development. As everyone knows, we went through a very difficult and compressed schedule to get our season six powertrain on track.

"Making sure the team had the maximum development time was our primary goal, and the team was able to simply get down to the business of maximizing our package both for speed and energy consumption."

Sebastien Buemi - Nissan e.dams Driver No. 23

"It's been a good day. At the end, we were out there full the whole day. It was the first day back in the new car. I've been really happy with how the day went today.

"We had good reliability and a lot of data to analyze. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, but it was a pleasure to be back and see how we stack up against the competition. Let's cross our fingers we can continue to do a good job."

Oliver Rowland - Nissan e.dams Driver No. 22

"It was a pretty good first day. Everything ran pretty smoothly. We got a good feeling with the new car. It was great to work with the team again and be with the rest of the cars on track.

"I think in general it was a pretty positive day. The pace seems okay, but there's a lot of things we can still improve, we'll be looking for that over the next few days of testing. Looking forward to getting back on track tomorrow."

Olivier Driot - Nissan e.dams Team Principal

"It was a really encouraging first day back on track for the team. It's no secret that we've gone through a lot of changes on the car in the off season, particularly with the powertrain, and to have it perform as reliably as it did the first day out was a great start. It was even better that both Seb and Ollie were quick.

"But, we still have two days of testing and there will be more changes as we go along. We want to make sure this car and this powertrain are as reliable and fast as we can possibly be going into the first race of the year. We proved at the end of last year we were a force to be reckoned with, and this year we want to really fight for the championship and for more race wins."

Formula E Preseason Test
Valencia, Spain – Day 2

Session 3:
Oliver Rowland - P4 - 1:15.444
Sebastien Buemi - P11 - 1:15.777

Session 4:
Sebastien Buemi - P8 - 1:15.825
Oliver Rowland - P10 - 1:15.972

Mike Carcamo - Nissan global motorsports director
"Today was another really productive day for our Nissan e.dams team. Yesterday, we wanted to prove that our updated single motor powertrain system was just as quick and reliable as last year's powertrain, and we went out and did that. While today, we focused on putting together an entire race run.

"We're really happy with how the car performed over the course of the entire race simulation. There are always little things to work on with setup and getting the most out of every piece of the car, but the updated machine performed beautifully.

"Tomorrow with the day off we'll go over all of the data from the last two days and really nail down a setup that works for Oli and Seb so they can extract the most pace from the car in the final day of testing and into the start of season six."

Sebastien Buemi - Nissan e.dams Driver No. 23
"Today we mainly focused on race simulations, which we did with all the teams here today, just to practice the new regulations. It worked very well and I'm happy with what I've seen so far from that simulation. On pure quali pace, it's been a bit of a challenge today.

"Now we have a day off, which is very welcome so that we can try and analyze everything and get ready for Friday. This is the last day of testing before Riyadh, so it's quite important for us. I'm quite happy with what I saw today. I think it was really positive."

Oliver Rowland - Nissan e.dams Driver No. 22
"Pretty good second day. The times were really close this morning, so pace over one lap seems quite positive. Race pace seemed quite good also. I'm pretty happy in general. We had some stuff to improve in the afternoon and we learned a lot. I think everything is working well and I'm happy overall.

"Today we were trying different setups and really just maximizing all of our different systems. We've got a bit of work to do on them, but we know what we're doing and it's really just fine-tuning. We started off with a really good baseline. Obviously, everyone is at a very high level and the times are super fast, so we just have to make sure everything is working well for the first race."

Gregory Driot - Nissan e.dams Team Principal
"I think we have to be pleased with how today went. Everyone on the team was happy with the race pace during the simulations and I think we have a really good starting point to fine tune the cars for race one in about a month.

"We have one more day here with all the other teams to really tweak the cars. Luckily, the changes we'll have to make are quite small and with the team coming to grips with the new car, should not be very difficult for us."

Formula E Preseason Test
Valencia, Spain – Day 3

Session 5:
Sebastien Buemi - P5 - 1:15.328
Oliver Rowland - P18 - 1:15.867

Session 6:
Sebastien Buemi - P6 - 1:15.646
Oliver Rowland - P10 - 1:15.875

Mike Carcamo - Nissan global motorsports director
"We're coming away from the preseason test with a lot of confidence. We managed to work through our scheduled run plan and put valuable test miles on the car in preparation for the opening round.
"We're entering season six with an updated powertrain and to finish the week so strongly with both cars in the top ten again was very pleasing.

"Both Sebastien and Oliver did a great job and they are very pleased with our progress. There is still a lot of work ahead for the entire team before the first race but everyone is confident to kick off our season six championship challenge."

Sebastien Buemi - Nissan e.dams Driver No. 23
"It was a good test. The reliability was quite good. We were able to experience everything that we wanted with the new software and the updated car, so I'm happy with how it went. It's always difficult to make a conclusion on the results, but we seem to be there, whether in race stints or qualifying stints. I'm really looking forward to Diriyah. I think we have a very good base, but now it's time to analyze everything and create the best possible setup for round one in a month's time."

Oliver Rowland - Nissan e.dams Driver No. 22
"In general, I think the week went well. The car performance over one lap, as well as over a race distance, seems competitive. I think we have to be pretty happy. We still have a lot to work on before Saudi, but things look really good so far and I'm really excited to get to Diriyah."

Olivier Driot - Nissan e.dams Team Principal
"It was a very rewarding week for the team. Since the New York ePrix, we've been working incredibly hard in conjunction with Nissan and NISMO on the updated powertrain. It was a very big task but now with a week's running against our competitors, we're very satisfied with the results.

"Of course we're not about to rest on our laurels but this week has been a very strong start and gives us a great platform to further develop the car."
