Nissan Canada Inc. (NCI) released its sales figures for April, 2008 today, with total volume sales for both Nissan and Infiniti brands totaling 8,849 units, up 19 per cent over April 2007. This marked a record month in the company’s history.

The Nissan brand accounted for 7,946 units in April, up 18 per cent year-over-year, also marking the best month on record for the Nissan brand. The Infiniti brand accounted for 903 units, selling 27 per cent more units than in April 2007.

Sales for Nissan in April were led by the Altima, which posted a 26 per cent increase over the same month last year, as well as the Versa with 2,795 units sold last month and a 25 per cent increase year-over-year.
 
Sales for Infiniti were lead by the G with 493 units sold, while the EX35, Infiniti’s new luxury crossover which debuted in December, sold 285 units in April. 

NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS

• Versa sales were up 25 per cent over April 2007
• The Altima continued strong with 1,823 units sold last month, an increase of 26 per cent
• April marked a record month in Nissan Canada’s history

INFINITI HIGHLIGHTS

• The Infiniti G led sales for the brand with 493 units this month
• The all-new EX35 introduced in December, sold 285 units
• The sales of QX56 were up 25 per cent over April 2007

NCI HIGHLIGHTS

• NCI sold a record 8,849 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles combined this month
