MISSISSAUGA, ON – The first edition of the 2021 Sentra Cup Magazine is out now, featuring highlights from Nissan Sentra Cup's inaugural weekend at Shannonville Motorsport Track in Belleville, Ontario. The symbolic event marked the very first race in the history of the new Canadian motorsport series and the racing debut of the Nissan Sentra.

The action-packed weekend saw Ontario local Gavin Sanders take the winning spot of the opening two races, overcoming 2020 Micra Cup champion Kevin King. In Saturday's race, Sanders did not make a single mistake and won the 40-minute race by a thin margin of 987 thousandths of a second. While King was declared winner of Sunday's race, he was penalized by one position due to an avoidable contact with Sanders, who therefore won both opening races.

Fans can tune in to read all the race weekend highlights in the latest edition of the Nissan Sentra Cup Magazine (attached). The magazine includes an interview with Darren Graham, owner of Applewood Group Nissan dealerships in B.C. and newcomer to the Sentra Cup track, to discuss what inspired him to participate in the 2021 season and his first impressions of driving the Nissan Sentra.

The Shannonville Motorsport Park race weekend is the first of six events in what is shaping up to be a successful first season of the Nissan Sentra Cup. The next event in the 2021 Nissan Sentra Cup series event will be the Summer Classic, held at Circuit Mont-Tremblant in Quebec.
