FIRST CANADIAN PUBLIC TEST-DRIVE OF THE ALL-ELECTRIC NISSAN LEAF(TM)

Nissan Canada today confirmed the first Canadian public test-drive event for the all-electric Nissan LEAF™ at the Green Living Show in Toronto. Over three days (April 15-17), attendees at the show can get behind the wheel of the Nissan LEAF and see for themselves what all the buzz is about.

“Between the thousands of Canadians who have signed up for Nissan LEAF updates on our consumer website and the response we’ve received at auto shows across Canada, we know Canadians are really interested in this car,” said Ian Forsyth, Electric Vehicle Project Manager at Nissan Canada Inc. “We couldn’t have picked a better event than the Green Living show for the first public test drives which showcases the best solutions for sustainable living. We’re excited to let people actually drive the car, because we know they will be impressed.”

The Nissan LEAF™ is a medium-size hatchback with ample cargo space and seating for five adults comfortably. With a range of 160 kilometres (EPA LA4 cycle) on one full charge, Nissan LEAF™ provides 90% of Canadians with the range needed for daily commutes. With a 240 volt home charging station full charge is achieved in seven hours, and with a Level 3 Quick Charger, 80% charge can be achieved in just 26 minutes.

Arriving in Canadian showrooms this fall, the Nissan LEAF™ has an MSRP starting at $38,395 and will be eligible for an Ontario government rebate of $8,500.

The Green Living Show is Canada’s largest green consumer show dedicated to educating the public about easy and workable solutions for leading a sustainable lifestyle. Visitors can shop the wide variety of exhibitor booths while gathering information and inspiration from a diverse selection of demonstrations, and special features including the first Canadian public test-drive of the Nissan LEAF™. Attendees to the Green Living Show can receive free admission by recycling electronic waste at the Show.
