The powerful, roomy 2004 Nissan Armada, the newest member of Nissan's diverse family of authentic sport utility vehicles, proudly takes the Pathfinder name and reputation for innovation to a new dimension.
Built on an all-new platform, the all-new Armada features a rugged, fully boxed high-strength steel frame; an independent rear suspension designed for improved interior roominess, comfort and handling; and an all-new 5.6-liter DOHC 32-valve Nissan Endurance V8 engine offering one of the highest standard horsepower/torque ratings in the full-size light duty SUV class and the highest maximum towing capacity in that class at 9,100 pounds.
A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard on every Armada (the first available in class), an advanced full-time 4WD design and two-speed transfer case with 4-Lo and Auto 4x4 technology.
The new Armada also offers distinctive exterior styling, class-leading (full-size, light duty SUV class) second row roominess, fold-flat 2nd and 3rd row seating, and a long list of standard and available features and equipment - including a full-length overhead console with available DVD entertainment system, exceptional interior storage, and a removable 2nd row center console (available with optional 2nd row captain's chairs).
Advanced safety technology features include standard roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags that help provide rollover and side-impact protection to outboard occupants in all three rows. Every Armada also includes Nissan's Advanced Air Bag System (AABS), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system with Traction Control, Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) plus a Trailer Towing Package including Rear Suspension Levelizer.
The new Armada will be assembled at Nissan's new $1.43 billion (US$) manufacturing facility in Canton, Mississippi. It is scheduled to go on sale at more than 140 Canadian Nissan dealers nationwide in the fall of 2003. Highlights of the 2004 Nissan Armada Full-Size SUV include:
