Nissan's popular Xterra sport utility vehicle (SUV) will be offered in two models for 2001, a no-frills, entry-level XE model and an overtly sporty, well-equipped SE model.

Body

• 4-door, 5-seat sport-utility vehicle was all new last year
• Built on the Frontier 4x4's 264.92 cm (104.3-inch) wheelbase
• Body is mounted on a ladder-frame similar to Frontier's and it is longer, wider and taller than vehicles such as the Jeep Cherokee and Toyota RAV4
