Model complexity has been reduced by four for 2001, while a new Limited Edition "LE" Package combines the features of the discontinued Sound and Convenience Package with new 16-inch alloy wheels, 205/55 R16 tires, luxury-tuned suspension and a 6-disc CD changer.

All models of the 2001 Altima will also be equipped with emergency inside trunk release for added family safety and security.
