Montreal, Quebec – As many parts of Canada start to see the first signs of a typically harsh winter, the all-new 2019 Nissan Altima AWD sedan has arrived to showrooms. To convey the message that All-Wheel Drive is now a standard feature on the 2019 Altima, Nissan has modified the sophisticated sedan into an aggressive adversary to Old Man Winter. Named the Altima-te AWD, this extreme iteration of the Altima dons a 30-inch tall DOMINATOR® track system from American Track Truck, installed by Quebec-based MIA Motorsports.
The Altima-te AWD joins the Warrior family of Nissan crossovers wearing heavy-duty rubber tracks. In connection to the original Rogue Warrior videoOpens in a new tab. , issued in line with press day at the 2016 Montreal International Auto Show, three-time Nissan Micra Cup champion Olivier Bédard once again appears in a Nissan video story. This time, Valérie Limoges, a Micra Cup driver who placed fourth in the 2018 championship, stars alongside Bédard.
The video starts with Limoges in a chalet, messaging with Bédard about a meeting up for a race. Limoges gets into her vehicle, which appears to be the production Altima sedan at first. As the camera rolls, the deep snow accumulation becomes more apparent until the Altima-te AWD is seen in its full form, starting with its extremely flared fenders and powering through the powder with ease.
Reaching a frozen lake, Limoges updates Bédard on her location, which Bédard must access by plane due to its challenging, snowy terrain. Bédard exits the plane, greets Limoges, and the two Nissan Micra Cup drivers head to Bédard’s vehicle - the original Rogue Warrior. The vehicles race one another, kicking up large bursts of snow from their DOMINATOR Tracks.
Both the video and the Altima-te AWD were revealed to the public for the first time today, during Nissan's press conference at the 2019 Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS). The Altima-te AWD will be on display at the MIAS until the show concludes on January 27.
