MISSISSAUGA, ON – The first edition of the 2022 Sentra Cup Magazine is out now, featuring highlights from Nissan Sentra Cup's inaugural weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario.

The action-packed weekend saw Alexandre Fortin and Simon Charbonneau each take a victory. The first race started with a severe thunderstorm brewing in the region. Justin Arseneau, Alexandre Fortin and Simon Charbonneau fought hard for the lead but after just a few laps of racing, a violent storm and extreme winds stuck hard. Rain welcomed again the competitors on Sunday for Race 2. Simon Charbonneau started the 40-minute race in third place and powered into the lead in Corner 1 ahead of Arseneau and Fortin. Fighting to find some grip on the very slippery tarmac, the Nissan Sentra Cup drivers put on a terrific show for the fans.

Fans can tune in to read all the race weekend highlights in this edition of the Nissan Sentra Cup Magazine (attached). The magazine includes an interview with Alexandre Fortin, the driver of the Ste-Foy / Beauport Nissan team who looks back on this feat that already positions him as one of the favourites for the title.

The Canadian Tire Motorsport Park race weekend is the first of six events, in what is shaping up to be a successful first season of the Nissan Sentra Cup. The next event in the 2022 Nissan Sentra Cup series will be the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada, held at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Quebec.
