TORONTO, ONT. – Today, Nissan announced that the Versa subcompact sedanOpens in a new tab. will launch in Canada late-summer of 2020 as 2021 model. After a full redesign in 2019, the Versa subcompact car is poised to redefine the segment. Nissan Canada's president, Steve Milette, presented the all-new 2021 Versa to Canadian media this morning during Nissan's press conference at the Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS).

"Nissan is not only fully committed to sedans, we are fully committed to customers in the entry-level segment," said Steve Milette, Nissan Canada president. "With its expressive design and exciting technology features rarely seen on this segment, we believe Versa will be a welcome option for the tens of thousands of Canadians who purchase in its segment every year."

The Versa offers a new level of refinement with a dramatic design and is loaded with technology and safety features not usually found in the segment. Nissan Safety Shield 360, a prime example of Nissan Intelligent Mobility that helps provide front, side and rear safety monitoring and intervention technologies, is available on Versa. Standard safety features include: Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Intelligent Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning and High Beam Assist. Available features: Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross traffic Alert.

Design is also a key strategic advantage for the 2021 Versa, combining an all-new dramatic and expressive exterior with a fresh new interior with class-above features and quality.

The new design, which features lower, wider and longer exterior dimensions while retaining Versa's roomy interior space, and allowing 425 litres of trunk space, is the latest in the makeover of Nissan's complete sedan lineup. The flagship Maxima and all-new Altima were redesigned in late 2018 under Nissan's "Emotional Geometry" design language. This is now the new design language for Nissan sedans, including Versa and the all-new Sentra. Key elements – such as the V-motion grille, boomerang-shaped headlamps and tail lamps, kick-up C- pillars and floating roof – have been adapted to the new Versa. The result is an entry-level car that the designers describe as "an Energetic, Provocative and Engaging modern compact sedan."

Nissan Kicks Street Sport

Following its display the 2019 SEMA show, the Nissan Kicks Street Sport concept will make its national debut at the 2020 CIAS. Starting with a bone stock Nissan Kicks compact crossover, the team at MA Motorsports in Maryland worked with Nissan Motorsports to cross many lines of conformity in bringing this ultimate Kicks to life.

MA Motorsports fabricated the wide fender flares at each corner to perfectly fit the Volk Racing TE37V 17x8.5 +30 offset wheels mounted with Falken Azenis RT615K +245/45R17 tires. To help give the Kicks Street Sport the right stance and name-worthy handling, a custom suspension was constructed using a combination of NISMO/Ohlins coil-over shock absorbers.

Next, the MA Motorsports team turned its attention to kicking up the stock 1.6-litre four- cylinder engine, fabricating and installing a custom turbocharger kit. The new system utilizes a Garrett GT2255 turbocharger, Turbosmart diverter valve and UPREV ECU. A custom fabricated NISMO exhaust helps the engine breathe.

Sparco SPX carbon bucket seats anchor the custom interior upholstery. Topping off the Kicks Street Sport project is an attention grabbing body wrap and graphics created by Speed Designs.

A new take on Nissan's best-selling vehicle in Canada – the Nissan Sentra

Following its national debut at the 2020 Montreal International Auto Show in January, Nissan will display the all-new 2020 Sentra compact sedan in its booth at the CIAS.

Sentra is the best-selling Nissan model of all time in Canada, with more than 326,000 deliveries since 1990. Now in its eighth generation, the 2020 Sentra resembles its predecessors in name only. It has been completely transformed from a traditional compact sedan to a powerful presence that shares the muscular, sporty design elements of models like the Maxima and GT-R. It also features a new refined, more luxurious interior, setting new standards for quality and comfort.

Sentra's driving experience has also been completely revamped, thanks to a 2.0-litre, 4‑cylinder engine rated at 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque—increases of 20 per cent and 16 per cent respectively over the previous generation's 1.8-litre engine—and a new platform featuring an independent rear suspension and an upgraded, new, dual-pinion electric power steering design (DP-EPS).

Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of six advanced driver-assist systems, is standard on all 2020 Sentra grade levels. Nissan Safety Shield 360 includes Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Intelligent Emergency Braking. Sentra also features standard Rear Door Alert, 10 supplemental air bags and Intelligent Driver Alertness2.
