The 2016 Rogue has been recognized by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, earning the "Top Safety Pick" rating.

The Nissan Rogue, which was completely redesigned for the 2014 model year, continues to challenge convention with bold emotive styling, a premium interior created with comfort and multi-tasking in mind, and an array of available affordable technologies. Rogue offers optional 3-row/7-passenger seating, along with exceptional passenger and cargo flexibility with its innovative EZ Flex Seating System™ and Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System.

Since its launch, Rogue has been named to several "Best SUV," "Best Family Car" and "Best Value" lists by leading consumer and automotive online media organizations, including one of 2015's "10 Best All-wheel-drive Vehicles Under $25,000" by Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com. It was also named a "Top Safety Pick" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the 2016 and 2015 model years¹. Rogue remains Nissan's best-selling model in the Canadian lineup.

For 2016, Nissan is proud to present an all-new model, the Rogue SV Special Edition. The SV Special Edition will reduce the current upgrade from S to SV grade by providing additional features at a lower price point, including heated seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, intelligent key with push button start, fog lights, tonneau cover, auto on/off headlights, 6-way power driver seat and power driver lumbar support, privacy glass and two additional speakers. The Rogue SV Special Edition makes these highly desired features available at a lower price point.

Now, for the 2016 model year, Rogue adds a number of significant features to its list of available technologies, including Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) and NissanConnect℠ Services powered by SiriusXM® (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately). Rogue is also the first model in Nissan's lineup to offer Siri® Eyes Free, which allows drivers to interact with Siri® on their compatible Apple iPhone®.

Other available technologies includes NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps, class-exclusive² Around View® Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD) and radar-based Blind Spot Warning (BSW).

Other 2016 enhancements include two new exterior colours, Magnetic Black and Glacier White, and the addition of an all-new model, the Rogue SV Special Edition. The SV Special Edition will close the gap between the current upgrade from S to SV grade by providing highly desired additional features at a lower price point.

Robust Exterior, Inviting Interior

The 2016 Rogue's exterior provides a premium, high-quality look and feel with no compromise of the functional aspects that are so important to owners in this class. Rogue offers a compact overall size and ample interior roominess, thanks to its long wheelbase and short front and rear overhangs.

Rogue's bold, sharp bodylines offer a sporty and confident appearance, balancing its sleek style with an aggressive stance provided by large wheel-wells and available 18-inch wheels and tires. The coefficient of drag is 0.33 due to an optimized A-pillar section and outside mirror shapes, which also helps reduce wind noise. The turbulence behind the body has been reduced through optimization of the rear roof spoiler, rear side spoiler and rear combination lights. Underbody aerodynamic devices include: a rear bumper closing panel, fuel tank deflector, rear suspension cover, engine under cover and front tire deflectors.

Exterior highlights include standard halogen headlights with signature LED daytime running lights making a powerful visual statement. Also featured are body-colour heated outside mirrors with standard integrated turn signals, roof rails and a rear spoiler. Also available are LED headlights, fog lights, privacy glass, and power liftgate.

Rogue's available power panoramic moonroof offers a panoramic view through its extended length. The front glass panel slides and tilts, while the rear glass panel is fixed. When in the open position, the front panel slides under the fixed second panel.

Rogue is offered in seven exterior colours: Glacier White, Arctic Blue Metallic, Pearl White, Brilliant Silver, Gun Metallic, Magnetic Black and Cayenne Red.

Rogue's comfortable, inviting interior offers a definite "wow" factor for occupants – unexpected roominess along with a marriage of refined styling and premium comfort. Factors contributing to roominess are the optimized front headrest shape, low front seat shoulder height, forward-shifted centre console location, reduced front seatback surfaces, reduced rear door speaker enclosure intrusion, lowered door trim height and the new sliding/reclining 2nd row seat design. As a result, Rogue features ample interior roominess and 1,982L (70.0 cubic feet) of cargo room (rear seats folded down).

The Rogue's front bucket seats are a special "zero gravity"-inspired design. Similar to the Nissan Altima's front seats, the articulated seat shape provides continuous support from the pelvis to the chest, helping reduce fatigue over long periods behind the wheel.

The available Quick Comfort™ heated front seats are designed to immediately begin warming the body parts that are most sensitive to heat, such as the thighs and hips. Then, to maintain a warm, cozy feeling, the heater increases heating on body pressure points. The driver's seat is 6-way adjustable, with available power adjustment including lumbar support, while the front passenger seat is 4-way adjustable with available 4-way power adjustment.

With Rogue's innovative EZ Flex™® Seating System, every seat except the driver's easily folds down. The front passenger seat folds rearwards, allowing transport of long items such as an 8-foot ladder when combined with the flat folding 40/20/40-split 2nd row seat. The optional stadium-style, flat-fold 3rd row 50/50-split bench seat enhances Rogue's outstanding passenger versatility. Rogue offers 963mm (37.9 inches) of 2nd row legroom with its (228mm) 9.0 inches of fore/aft adjustability.

The 2016 Rogue interior design also offers a range of smart storage and convenience solutions, with six front storage areas (five within the driver's reach), two front cupholders and two front bottle holders.

Other standard interior features for model year 2016 include ECO mode, Fine Vision electroluminescent gauges, front centre console, power windows with driver's auto up/down, 5.0-inch centre meter colour display (Advanced Driver Assist™ Display), air conditioning with microfilter and adjustable 2nd row vents, 4-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system with auxiliary audio input jack, power door locks with auto-locking feature, LED maplights, USB connection port for iPod® interface and other compatible devices, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, RearView Monitor, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth® and Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant.

Also available are dual-zone automatic temperature control, leather-appointed seats, Bose® audio system with nine speakers. Two interior colours are offered: Black and Beige.

Available Rogue connected technology and smartphone integration includes the advanced NissanConnectSM with Navigation system with 7.0-inch colour touch-screen display, Nissan Voice Recognition for navigation and audio, NavTraffic (SiriusXM subscription required, sold separately), NissanConnectSM Apps, Siri Eyes Free® and NissanConnectSM Services Powered by Siruis XM® (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately).

With the Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant they can receive incoming messages from smartphones, and with Streaming Audio via Bluetooth® anyone can DJ from anywhere in the Rogue," added Rhind.

Confidence-Inspiring Driving Technologies

Rogue's available segment-first Around View® Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD) system utilizes four small superwide-angle cameras mounted on the front, side and rear of the vehicle to provide a "bird's eye" virtual 360° view of objects around the vehicle. It provides additional selectable split-screen close-ups of the front, rear and curb views, helping the driver maneuver the car in or out of tight spots.

Moving Object Detection builds on the capabilities of the AVM system, helping enhance the driver's situational awareness by providing visual and audible warnings (front, side or back range object detection) if the system detects moving objects (such as another vehicle) within the displayed image in situations such as when pulling out of a parking space. Using sophisticated image processing technology, the system detects moving objects within the "top view" (when the vehicle is in Park). When starting off or backing up, it detects moving objects crossing within the front or rear views.

Other Rogue Safety Shield technologies include Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) and Moving Object Detection (MOD).

Every 2016 Nissan Rogue is equipped with a responsive 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine rated at 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The engine is matched with an advanced next-generation Xtronic® transmission with standard Sport Mode switch.

Fuel economy is rated at 7.1L/100kms highway for front-wheel drive Xtronic® transmission-equipped models – Rogue city fuel economy is rated at 9.1/100kms, while combined fuel economy is 8.2L/100kms (front-wheel drive models). Rogue AWD models are rated at 9.5L/100kms city, 7.4L/100kms highway and 8.L/100kms combined. The new Eco setting helps customers easily realize the vehicle's maximum fuel efficiency by changing acceleration pedal feel and illuminating an icon on the meter to inform customers they are in that mode.

The Rogue also features Nissan's new suite of confidence-inspiring dynamic technologies with Active Trace Control, Active Engine Braking and Active Ride Control. The Active Trace Control system utilizes Rogue's standard Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system to help improve cornering feel by automatically applying the brakes or smoothing engine torque characteristics while accelerating.

With Active Engine Braking, the Xtronic® transmission helps slow the Rogue as the driver brakes, resulting in less brake effort by the driver. Active Ride Control helps smooth out the drive by automatically applying the brakes and adjusting engine torque after the vehicle hits a bump, reducing the typical "head bobble" pitch.

The 2016 Rogue also offers standard 4-wheel independent suspension, Electric Power-assisted Steering, 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Traction Control System (TCS) and Hill Start Assist. Rogue is available with a choice of front-wheel drive or an intuitive All-Wheel Drive system with standard Hill Descent Control.

Rogue S models are equipped with 17-inch wheels and 225/65R17 all-season tires, while 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels are standard on Rogue SV. Also available are 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 225/60R18 all-season tires on Rogue SL models.

Safety and security features include the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) with dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt and occupant classification sensors; front seat-mounted side impact supplemental air bags; roof-mounted curtain side impact supplemental air bags with rollover sensor for front and rear-seat outboard occupant head protection; 3-point front and rear seatbelts, front seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters and adjustable upper anchors; and LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children).

Every Rogue also offers child safety rear door locks; Zone Body construction featuring front and rear crumple zones and occupant zone; Nissan Immobilizer system and anti-theft alarm system; and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with position monitoring and Nissan's innovative, class-exclusive³ Easy-Fill Tire Alert.

Three Well-Equipped Models

The 2016 Nissan Rogue comes in four well-equipped models, S, SV Special Edition, SV and SL Premium. S and SV Special Edition available in a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive and SV and SL Premium available with all-wheel drive only. Along with the long list of standard features found on Rogue S, both Rogue SV models include standard 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, privacy glass, Nissan Intelligent Key™ with Push Button Ignition, 6-way power driver's seat, power driver's seat lumbar support, heated cloth seats, power panoramic moonroof and, two additional audio system speakers. The SV Special Edition will close the gap between the current upgrade from S to SV grade by providing these additional features at a lower price point.

Rogue SL Premium includes leather-appointed seating, dual-zone automatic temperature control, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. It also includes NissanConnectSM with Navigation and Mobile Apps, Siri Eyes Free®, 7.0-inch colour touchscreen display, Around View® Monitor, LED headlights with auto levelizer, Blind Spot Warning, Forward Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Moving Object Detection, power liftgate, Bose Audio, 4-way power passenger seat, and NissanConnectSM Services Powered by SiriusXM® (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately).

Available option packages include the Moonroof Package (SV AWD only) with Power Panoramic Moonroof. The Rogue's robust exterior styling features a premium look and feel created to stand out in its class. The bold, sharp lines offer a sporty and confident appearance. Exterior highlights include halogen headlights with signature LED daytime running lights, muscular front fenders and hood, body colour outside mirrors with standard integrated turn signals and rear spoiler. Also available are LED headlights fog lights, privacy glass, power panoramic moonroof and a power rear liftgate. Wide-opening rear doors provide wide-opening rear doors for easy entry and exit for rear passengers. Rogue is offered in seven exterior colours, including new Magnetic Black and Glacier White.

The premium look and feel continues inside with the Rogue interior, which is designed to make everyday activities a little easier and in style. Rogue's ample interior roominess offers available 7-passenger seating with the optional stadium-style, flat-fold 3rd row 50/50-split bench seat. The reclining 40/20/40-split 2nd row seat offers 2nd row legroom of 963 mm (37.9 inches) and 228mm(9.0 inches) of fore/aft adjustability with the EZ FlexÔ® Seating System.

Rogue also offers the advanced Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System providing 18 adjustable variations between the cargo and occupant areas (two-row models). With the 2nd row seat folded down, the innovative Divide-N-Hide® cargo system creates a flat cargo area. When more space is needed for carrying taller or bulkier items, lowering the floor board creates a deeper cargo well. And, with the divider board in the vertical position, a split storage area space is created for containing items such as grocerey bags or for separating clean items from muddy sports equipment. It also creates a large covered storage area to keep items out of view from prying eyes. The floor board is designed to stay in the vehicle, yet is easily removed if desired.
